The Extreme Cat Back is the loudest MRT cat back exhaust for your Focus RS. Owning a 2016-18 Focus RS already shows you prefer a racer's edge to your vehicles. This Ford Focus RS Performance Exhaust turns things up several notches for rally track days, local shows or weekend cruising.

The Focus RS MRT Extreme Cat Back is a complete exhaust system upgrade that's loud, powerful and uncompromising. It has just enough exhaust presence with elevated sound to Get Noticed, plenty of opportunities to Feel the Performance and is packaged in a design without the excessive drone. We use more than 35 years of automotive engineering experience to tune this exhaust to the vehicle's DNA so you don't have to. Watch our demonstration videos below to get a taste of how a new Focus RS cat back exhaust can completely change your time on the road.

Focused Performance in a DIY Package

Our Ford Focus RS Cat Back Performance Exhaust and is handcrafted in T304 stainless steel. This system includes three-inch CNC mandrel-bent tubes and dual four-inch double wall-polished T304 stainless steel tips with beveled edges. This system is engineered for the best sound to match your vehicle and provides substantially increased horsepower from the increased exhaust flow. Installation in your driveway or backyard takes about an hour using tools you likely already have.

For customers with factory-installed active or dual mode exhaust valves, MRT offers and recommends a simple solution that allows you to upgrade your exhaust system without having to develop a tune. Our Ford Active & Dual Mode Exhaust Power Plate mimics the stock flapper valve so the check engine light (CEL) doesn't come on. Simply add it to your shopping cart before checkout - it only adds another 30-60 minutes to the installation time.

Hear the Difference

  • How does it sound? The Focus RS MRT Extreme Cat Back Exhaust has a loud, deep muscle car sound.
  • Is there drone or resonance? The drone is noticeable but tolerable.
  • What if I step on it? Wide-open throttle increases the exhaust loudness and tone to an aggressive performance sound.

5 of 5 Makes the RS sound like it should! July 18, 2017
Reviewed by: Tyler Boes from Monroe, MI United States
This exhaust system gives the RS turbo noise, depth, and sound. Stock, the RS sound is lacking. Since putting this system on my car, I have turned way more heads. I have seen people jump in their seats when the exhaust pops in sport mode. Being 21, I usually drive the car pedal to the floor, but sometimes I do just want to cruise. This exhaust is easily controlled with the throttle. If you want to just sound normal, just drive it like a normal car. There is no resonator or muffler, but there is no drone at all. For gas mileage, I average at 25 MPG, and I don't drive the car like Grandma and Grandpa. This exhaust system also eliminates a major design flaw in the stock exhaust system. There is a point just after the downpipe where the exhaust forms a bout a 1 1/2 inch triangle for packaging reasons and tool/hand clearance on Ford's side. MRT eliminated this feature for a more open and better flowing exhaust system. I would absolutely recommend this system.
