The Explorer ST MRT Sport Touring H-Pipe Exhaust will enhance your driving experience by adding a sporty, refined, on-demand sound to your overall exhaust note. This exhaust replaces the mid-section of the OE exhaust after the emissions hardware. With this Explorer H-Pipe performance mod, you will experience a slightly increased loudness level versus stock exhaust so you can hear the whistle of the EcoBoost turbo. You also control the amount of exhaust presence as it gets louder when you accelerate, then rumbles in the background at steady-state cruising.

A Ford Explorer ST H-Pipe works much like a resonator delete, allowing more of this SUV's exhaust notes to shine through while also reducing backpressure compared to an X-pipe. The result is a small but noteworthy boost in sound and power. It's a great upgrade to step up the performance and fun factor of your ride. To Hear the Difference for yourself, check out the MRT videos below or buy one and install it to personally Feel the Performance.

Introduce Yourself to a Better Explorer ST Exhaust

Designed for sixth-generation Ford Explorer ST vehicles made from 2020 onward, an Explorer EcoBoost H-Pipe is a great option for anyone who wants to fine-tune their SUV's sound or is on a budget. It's one of our most affordable aftermarket systems and can be used with a replacement axle back exhaust if you want to go to the next level.

This MRT H-pipe is handcrafted in the highest-quality premium corrosion-resistant 2.5-inch T304 stainless steel. The design is a resonator replacement H-pipe configuration that is engineered to provide the best sporty sound to match your Explorer ST. The increased tube size increases performance from the improved exhaust flow and gives just enough elevated sound to Get Noticed. All H-pipes are made in the U.S. and inspected a minimum of four times before they leave our Michigan shop to ensure they meet MRT quality standards.

A Gen 6 Ford Explorer ST H-Pipe is certainly packed with plenty of opportunities to Feel the Performance while packaged in a design without an excessive drone. It's easy to install, too - all DIY hardware is included, and most people can complete the job in 60 minutes or less using standard hand tools. You don't need to tune your exhaust, either. Click on the "Installation Instructions" tab for a step-by-step guide that includes photos.

Other Ways to Upgrade Your Exhaust

To kicks things up a bit more, pair this MRT H-pipe with the MRT Extreme Axle Back 90R225 for a max-performance sound combination. If you're interested in a fuller exhaust note, MRT offers two cat back exhaust systems with two different exhaust sound ratings - the MRT Extreme Cat Back and MRT Sport Touring-Cat Back. Also, for the full MRT effect, add MRT Explorer Hood Struts (part number 80K102) to eliminate that prop rod without drilling holes in your vehicle! Call or emails us to learn more.

Hear the Difference

  • How does it sound? The MRT Explorer ST MRT Sport Touring H-Pipe provides a refined on-demand sound and increases loudness when you want it.
  • Is there drone or resonance? The drone is noticeable but tolerable.
  • What if I step on it? Wide-open throttle brings out a sound with a livelier attitude, more bite and a deeper growl.

5 of 5 Great February 13, 2023

Replace the Y-pipe of my early build Explorer.  Easy to install and clearly a quality piece.  Glad to see they now have 2.25" clamps that work great.  Not loud at all and no drone...NONE!

5 of 5 Sounds way better in person! January 17, 2022

Combined this axle-back with the MRT H-pipe and it sounds amazing.  Videos do not give it justice!  Driving around you can hear a little more noise but WOT is surprisingly loud.  And cold starts have a nice growl to it.  Definitely recommends vs paying for a 1300 for a full catback.

4 of 5 Nice upgrade September 27, 2021

I ordered the H pipe as a small step to upgrade the exhaust without going too loud or spending a ton of money. The price is good and the installation isn't too bad.

The only problem I had was the 2.5" clamps didn't work for the front/forward connections. After tightening as much as I could the flex pipe section could slide out which caused a bad exhaust leak. Replaced with some $4 2.25" clamps and I'm back in business.

5 of 5 How it should have come from Ford! April 23, 2021

I have been looking at all kinds of different exhaust systems ever since I bought my ST. The price of those systems and the sound both seemed a bit too much for my tastes. I didn't want a lot of noise, just a little increase to actually hear the exhaust some. Stumbled across this H pipe and it fit that bill perfectly on sound and price! This is actually how the exhaust should have come from the factory! The exhaust is little louder but you aren't going to be waking up any of your neighbors in the morning. It gives the exhaust a nice low rumble and provides a great supplement to the sounds of the engine if you have turned off the fake engine noise. No drone at all either. Build quality is spot on too and installation was fairly quick & easy but does involve cutting the pipes at the rear of the middle resonator.
