The MRT BRZ Sport Touring Axle Back Exhaust is how the BRZ should have sounded from the factory. This performance exhaust replaces the stock mufflers to give your BRZ a healthy note with a clean, smooth tone that is very sporty without being overwhelming. MRT team engineers also packaged the mufflers tight to the rear bumper, providing lots of clearance for when the road gets a bit rough.

If you want to hear a little bit more of the boxer engine at low revs, this MRT exhaust is the right system for you. Designed for the second-generation (ZD8) Subaru BRZ introduced for the 2022 model year, the MRT Sport Touring Axle Back provides an on-demand sound that is great for a daily driving setup. It shines at high RPMs but stays under control on city streets and in crowded neighborhoods. Since the Subaru BRZ is mechanically a twin to the Toyota 86, you can also use this system as a Toyota GR86 axle back exhaust.

Make Your Mark with an MRT Exhaust

MRT handcrafts this Subaru BRZ ZD8 Axle Back in corrosion-resistant T304 stainless steel for improved performance and durability. We use 2.5-inch mandrel-bent exhaust tubing that minimizes restrictions. The dual tip exhaust has standard polished stainless steel four-inch tips with an optional Black Ops black matte tip finish. This system is engineered for the best sound to match your BRZ and provides increased performance from the increased exhaust flow.

An axle back exhaust literally offers great bang for the buck and is easy to install. It takes only 60 minutes using a rachet/socket set and other common tools. High quality product. Sounds great. This is the one you want if you're looking for OEM+ sound and not boy racer loud. Shout out to TheTopher for making a video of this. I wouldn't have known about it otherwise.

5 of 5 MRT Nailed it August 6, 2023

Very happy with  the product and the result for my ‘22 MT. This exhaust adds a subtle authority to the sound of the BRZ (which was needed, in my opinion.)  Fitment is solid and appearance is nicely understated. That said, the best thing for me is how this setup totally elevates the driving experience.

5 of 5 Absolutely Fantastic Exhaust for the Price June 2, 2023

Firstly, hats off the MRT. They were utterly swamped when I ordered this due to a sale going on and it left the warehouse when they said it would. Box showed up with the shiny bits well-protected and my goodness the exhaust sounds marvelous. I would happily buy from MRT again. The quality-to-price ratio is off the charts. Also, your neighbors won't hate you with this exhaust. I'm really impressed by how it really isn't much louder at idle. Nicely done.

Second, I wanted to share two important details for other potential buyers. First of all, you absolutely will not be able to install this with hand tools. The clamp bolts in particular need to be absurdly tight and I was only able to get 'em tight enough with an impact wrench.

The other thing is, if you're hesitating on buying this because you don't have access to a lift or are leery around jack stands, it is actually completely possible to install this with the car on the ground. It's not fun, but it's absolutely possible.

4 of 5 Sounds great February 20, 2023

Exhaust is accurate to the description, it is not loud, it doesn’t drone at all, and sounds really good. Down low RPMs you can really hear a rumble boxer tone. In fact it sounds so good now I want more ! I give this exhaust a 9/10 if you want something chill and quiet for daily driving. The reason it’s not a 10 is I wish it was slightly louder because the new BRZs are too quiet. Fingers crossed to a resonated MRT midpipe for the new gen BRZ!
